Etro presenta, di solito, frontescena spettacolari che richiamano in modo diretto una stampa piuttosto che una texture o tessuto della collezione che presenta nella sfilata in questione. Anche questo frontescena (cioè il fondo delle modelle) non si discosta dalla mission aziendale di allestimento della sfilata.
Siamo al palazzo del Ghiaccio in Via Piranesi a Milano; e già l'enorme palazzo Liberty fa la vera differenza: un'architettura bianco ottico di ferro che si presta a innumerevoli soluzioni allestitive (vedere sfilate precedenti di Etro).
Il frontescena è un multi-layer fatto di diversi strati: lo strato più esterno è dato da due pannelli in poliplat o materiale simile, intagliati a laser, di una grafica stapata in macro (che ritroverete in alcuni dettagli della collezione). Il poliplat e/o communication è uno speciale materiale formato da due strati di carta in mezzo ai quali è inserita schiuma espansa e indurita. Si usa molto per fare modellini architettonici in piccolo e in grande per far macro stampe come questa.
(trans.)One of the most beautiful catwalks i have seen in this fashion week is Etro fashion show called "Lady Paisley". Usually Etro presents scaenae fronts that remind some dresses textures or textiles from the presented collection.
Even in this case the scaenae front is in line with collection concept.
We are in Palazzo del Ghiaccio in Piranesi street, Milan; it is a huge liberty building, with white steal elements, that is perfect for lots of different arrangements. (just see past Etro fashion shows).
The scaenae front is made by three layers: the first one is two poliplat panels, laser cutted, that are printed with graphics (you can see this graphic on some model ouft). Poliplat is a special material made by two paper layers with a solid expanded foam between them. It is used for architectural models in micro scale and for huge prints like this one.
Più avanti troviamo due cornici (in nero laccato) con fili tesati come se fossero parte di un telaio: un gioco dalle geometrie precise forma un intreccio regolare che si oppone alla fantasia organica e curvilinea del primo layer frontale con i paisley.
I fili possono esser resi visibili in due modi: o con una luce frontale oppure con una luce di background proveniente da un bank di luce bianca (che è il terzo layer del frontescena).
Un bank. come ho già spiegato in un precedente post, è una grande lampada formata da uno strato di PVC bianco tesato su un telaio autoportante e illuminato nella parte posteriore da luci come lampade Domino.
In questo modo è stato possibile sfruttare l'effetto del controluce per far percepire l'intreccio dei fili. Del terzo layer fa parte anche il fondale nero con la scritta ETRO in bianco laccato.
Farei notare l'attenzione al gioco di positivo e negativo del materiale laccato che ritroveremo anche nella passerella laccata nera in plexiglass (o polimetilmetacrilato, nome chimico).
(trans.) After this panels there are two shiny black frames with teased strings: a geometrical game with regular plot that is in contrast with the organic geometry of paisley in the front.
The string can be visible in two ways: the first one is with a frontal light while the second one is with a backlight from a light bank (the scaenae front third layer). A bank is a light structure with a teased white PVC on the front and Domino lamps in the back. PVC is fixed on a truss structure usually.
In this way the strings are visible with backlight effect. The third layer is made by the black wall with Etro logo too. The logo is shiny white: i have to say that the game between positive and negative colors with shiny materials is wonderful...the same concept is used for the catwalk made in shiny black plexyglass.
Lo stesso gioco del controluce è stato sfruttato per l'entrata e l'uscita delle modelle che figurano come delle ombre nere prima di entrare in passerella: la modella cammina tra il layer dei fili e del bank bianco.
Le luci di passerella sono una delle più ben fatte che abbia visto: luce frontale, posteriore, e luci laterali in modo tale da non lasciar neanche un'ombra visibile sia sull'outfit che sul viso della modella.
Un bel lavoro, finemente realizzato. Certo, a livello di tecnologia non è un'innovazione, lo devo ammettere, ma questo è un chiaro esempio di utilizzo ottimale di tecnologia già largamente sperimentate e realizzate in passato.

(trans.) The same backlight game is used for models entrance/exit that seem like black shadows before they go on the catwalk: the models walk between the black frame with strings and the white bank.. The catwlak lights are one of the most well done i ever seen: frontal, back and side lights to see the model perfectly illuminated without shadows.
A good job, well finished. I am sure that this is not an high techonology record but this is a clear example of optimal use of the present technologies.
