100...100..100 NUMERI DI ROLLING STONE! 100...100...100 ISSUES OF ROLLING STONE!

Certo che l'hang over c'è...c'è anche il lavoro che oggi doveva esser leggero e invece non lo è stato...e ho anche questo piccolo articolo da fare sull'evento dei 100 Numeri di Rolling Stone.

Iniziamo.

La rivista Rolling Stone ha festeggiato ieri alla Rotonda della Besana, edificio tardobarocco diventato famosa e suggestiva location di Milano dopo esser stato sconsacrato e adibito a magazzino. Se volete sapere il motivo dei festeggiamenti vi rimando al post che ho linkato ieri ma, detto in poche parole, ha celebrato con questo evento l'uscita del 100° numero della rivista con tanto di copertina dedicata e logowall su stampa in PVC all'ingresso con le sue 100 copertine.

L'ingresso della location fa tutto e non si è dovuto fare altro che inserire un bel bollo giallo con scritto "Rolling Stone 100 " con vari ed eventuali giochi di intermittenza della luce sulla facciata principale della chiesa. L'intorno è stato lasciato così com'è e mi domando perché non abbiano predisposto un'illuminazione lungo il bel porticato che abbraccia il cortile.

Il bollo giallo non è una proiezione bensì un tipo di illuminazione che si produce mediante un gobos, un faretto a cui si applica una mascherina con all'interno intagliato il logo che si fornisce in vettoriale (ricordate: avere sempre un logo in vettoriale che serve sempre!)

(trans.) Sure that there is the hang over...there is my work that was not easy today...and i have to write this little post about the 100 Issues of Rolling Stone Event.

Let's start.

The Rolling Stone magazine celebrated yesterday night at Rotonda della Besana, a Late Baroque building become a Milan famous and cool location after that it was been deconsecrated and used as a warehouse. If you want to know why the magazine celebrated you have to take a look at my previous post but, in few words, Rolling stone celebrated the 100 issue of the magazine. There was a cover about it and a logo wall, in the entrance, with its 100 covers.

The location entrance makes everything and they put a yellow light stamp with the writing "Rolling Stone 100" with some lights games. Around the facade everything is normal without lights or particular set up. I'm asking why they did not put something in the colonnade around the building. 

The yellow stamp is not a projection but a kind of lights produced by a gobos, a lamp with an inscriptioned mask. This contains the logo that must be given in vectorial version (remember: you always must have a vectorial logo, it is useful!)

L'entrata ha il classico logowall per le foto stampato su PVC e poi tesato su un supporto rigido. Dopodichè viene fissato alla quinta (come in questo caso) oppure si crea una struttura autoportante ad hoc per non appoggiarlo su nulla.

Sono state fatte diverse stampe, una a destra e l'altra a sinistra, ma sicuramente quella che funzionava di più era quella con le 100 copertine (che richiamava subito il tema dell'evento).

L'illuminazione di entrambi i logowall è stata realizzata mediante dei sagomatori fissati ai pannelli bianchi.

There were two different logowall, one on the right and one on the left, but the one who worked was the one with the 100 cover of the magazine (that reminds the event theme).

The lights of both photo walls was realized with shaper lamps fixed on the white panels top.

 

 

Dopo aver superato l'entrata ci si trova immersi nella bellezza di questa chiesa con impianto a croce romana che io amo. Volte colorate con dei fari Par Led e qualche lucciola qua e la hanno creato l'atmosfera di base sicuramente suggestiva. Alcune luci, per l'illuminazione dei 2 open bar e delle altre parti dell'interno, sono state posizionate su colonne di americana con struttura a vista. 

(trans.) After the entrance you were immersed into the beautiful interior of this church with roman cross structure that i love. Lighted vaultings with Par led lamps and other lights in the space created the suggestive atmosphere. Some lights were positioned on the top of some truss columns ,with no hidden structure, to illuminate the two open bars and other interior parts.

 

Il palco è stato rinchiuso da un ring di americana, la gabbia che vedete attorno al colonnato per intenderci. Poichè il punto centrale, in cui i due bracci della chiesa si incontrano, è tondo si aveva la sensazione che il ring fosse storto; la scelta di utilizzare travi di americana dritte ha portato questo risultato. Mi domando se si fossero scelti pezzi di americana curva cosa sarebbe successo...magari si avrebbe avuto un palco un po' più dritto e con una forma più in linea con lo spazio.

Ritornando a noi...questa gabbia serve da supporto a fari, luci, motorizzati e audio.

Come vedete dalle foto il contributo delle luci è stato consistente, anche troppo e psichedelico alle alle volte. Un palco bel realizzato ma che sicuramente non presenta nulla di innovativo dal punto di vista tecnologico ed estetico.

Il fondale è stato realizzato mediante un wall con il logo delle 100 riviste e delle barre LED posizionate senza un' angolazione ben chiara (un po' dritte, un po' storte, un po' a 45° e così via).

(trans.) The bandstand was closed by a truss ring. The space in the centre is a round; for this reason it seems that the truss ring is oblique. The choice to use linear trusses had this result. 

I wonder if they used curved trusses pieces what should be happened...maybe a bandstand more  in line with the space.

Let's go back to the main theme...this truss ring is used to be the support for lights, lamps and audio. As you can see from the pictures lights present is too much sometimes. A well finished bandstand but nothing special and innovative from a technologic point of view.

The background was made with a logo on a wall and some LED bars in no-sense positions (sometimes are straight, sometimes oblique, sometimes rounded of 45°...).

 

Si voleva fare un po' rock? un po' contrasto? un po' celebrazione del rock? Direi che questa festa non ci è riuscita ma in compenso la location ha salvato la situazione. E, devo dire, anche i contributi grafici.
Piccoli appunti sull'organizzazione: non c'erano dei cestini per i bicchieri e l'area lounge era tristissima nonché deserta. Invece complimenti per aver ottenuto la Rotonda della Besana che è uno degli spazi del comune più difficili da ottenere. Nice try...


(trans.) Was this event a bit rock? was it in contrast with the space? was it a celebration of the rock music? I say not at all but the beautiful location saved the situation. And the graphics elements too (i.e. logo, the wall with covers, etc.) 
Little objections about the event organization: there were not waste baskets and lounge area was so sad and empty. By the way a good job for getting Rotonda della Besana one of the most difficult building to obtain from the public council. Nice try...
